Instructions of silver mirror from BTG glass company

Silver mirror is a high-quality product which produced by using high-quality float glass, high-quality preparation and fully-automatically controlled silver-plating production line. It has the characteristics of clear and vivid image, long service life and excellent decorative effect, etc.

As the characteristics of silver mirror products, we must pay more attention to using the correct tools and correct processing technology, and maintaining a good processing environment during the processing process. In order to protect and maintain the integrity of the silver back paint and the edge of silver mirror and the persistent with the quality of silver mirror.

Therefore, we provide customers with instructions for use of silver mirrors.

1. The storage location and processing area of silver mirror should be keep dry, avoid exposure to rain and seawater moisture, and do not store it in the open air. At the same time, keep away from solvents, high-concentration cleaners or other chemical liquids and gases that corrode the lens, otherwise, the mirror will easily deteriorate.
2. During the handling, installation and processing of the silver mirror, please do not cause pressure and scratches on the silver mirror back paint. The processing equipment and the opening cutting table should be cleaned frequently and with a vacuum cleaner. Anyone who comes into contact with silver mirrors needs to wear gloves to prevent sweat and hand from eroding the lenses.
3. The grinding wheel should always be kept in good condition when edging, to minimize damage to the silver mirror back paint by the grinding wheel. When the grooves of the grinding wheel are seriously worn, the back paint of the silver mirror is easily ground loose, exposing the silver layer or the steel layer to the air, which may easily lead to black edges of the silver mirror.
4.The edging should be kept in one direction, and be careful not to generate too much heat and damage the mirror. The edging speed should not be too fast (generally, it is recommended that the 25mm bevel speed should not exceed 2m/min, and the straight edge speed should not exceed 3m/min).The cooling water should maintain a certain pressure (3kg), and dry grinding is strictly prohibited. If the edging is too fast, the lens is easy to heat up, which will cause the paint surface and the silver layer to peel off and oxidize and turn black and yellow.
5. For manual or non-mechanized edging and polishing, it is recommended to use a wet sanding belt machine, and the rotation direction turns from the back paint side to the front side, paying special attention not to scratch the mirror back paint and mirror surface.
6. If the coolant is used for edging, the coolant should be pure, and the pH value of the edge grinding water and polishing water should be from 6 to 9 generally, which is required to be neutral. If the PH value is too high, it must be replaced in time, otherwise, the mirror will be prone to black edges and yellowing during processing.
7. After the mirror is processed, the mirror back paint edge and mirror surface should be thoroughly cleaned with pure water and dried for storage. The spacer should be kept neutral and clean. Products with wet water and polishing powder should not be stored for more than two hours.
8. After cleaning and drying, it is possible to apply the edge sealant, but be sure to verify that the edge sealant is compatible with the mirror back paint first. When the mirror needs to be edge-sealed, it must be clean and clean. If there is moisture or dirt on the edge, it will be more prone to black edges and yellowing after edge-sealing.
9. We suggest using air-space installation as much as possible when installing, . If the method of isolation is infeasible or inapplicable, choose to use adhesive, be sure to use neutral glue, strictly prohibit the use of acid, alkali glass glue and double-sided adhesive paste, such as sticking with double-sided adhesive must be taken Use neutral double-sided tape.
10. The lens cannot be directly installed on the wall or tile of the new building, nor can the large core wood plywood containing formaldehyde and other harmful gases exceeding the standard be used as the substrate. It is recommended to seal two coats of varnish on both sides of the board, and install it together with the lens after drying, leaving room for ventilation, and not sealing neutral glass glue around it.
